Studio Policy – Piano Labs
At Piano Labs, our goal is to create a joyful, structured, and high-quality musical experience for every child. To ensure a smooth and positive learning environment for all families, please take a moment to read through our studio policies.
Term Structure
Lessons follow the Piano Labs term calendar, which broadly aligns with local school terms. When you sign up, you are committing to weekly lessons for the duration of the term. Lessons take place during term time only, with no lessons during half terms or holidays unless otherwise stated. Non-term sessions, such as summer workshops, may be offered separately and are entirely optional.
Lesson Format
Lessons are taught in small groups of up to five children at Pinner Methodist Church. All students take part in the same activity at the same time, while progressing at their own pace using guided learning tools and individual feedback. Parents or carers are required to remain on site throughout the lesson and may be invited to support their child’s learning when appropriate.
Fees and Payment
Tuition is £60 per month, billed evenly across all 12 months of the year. Monthly payments are due on the first of each month and cover all scheduled group lessons during term time. The number of lessons may vary slightly each term, but the monthly fee remains the same. Payments are made via secure monthly direct debit. Trial lessons cost £5, and a child’s place is confirmed once the first monthly payment has been received. Payments are non-refundable once a month has begun.
Missed Lessons
As lessons are held in small, fixed groups, it is not possible to offer make-up sessions for missed classes. If your child is unwell or unable to attend, please let us know in advance. While we cannot reschedule, we will provide a summary of the class and guidance for at-home practice where appropriate.
Behaviour and Participation
Our lessons are structured, interactive, and engaging, and we rely on each child’s respectful participation. If a student is regularly disruptive or unwilling to engage, we will work with families to address concerns. In some cases, we may recommend pausing or discontinuing lessons until the child is ready to return.
Withdrawal Policy
If you wish to withdraw from lessons, one full month’s notice is required. For example, if notice is given during April, lessons and payments will continue until the end of May. There are no refunds for partial months or mid-month withdrawals. As tuition is averaged across the year, an adjustment fee may be applied if you stop lessons before completing the 12-month billing cycle.
Communication
We provide regular updates about your child’s progress and are always happy to speak briefly after class or respond to queries via email.
